  A Day on the Rocks

Maybe you have climbed before but perhaps it has been a little while and you want a tuneup, or maybe you are visiting the area and want to get outside and climb. We can fill the day with routes at your skill level, showing you what we have to offer in the Eastern Sierra and get you back into the climbing routine. We offer scheduled dates and programs by request year-round.

Locations
Our scheduled one-day programs take place in the Mammoth area in the summer and fall and the Bishop area during the colder months. Some of our options are Benton Crags, Clark Canyon, the Buttermilks and Rock Creek. We will talk with you find where you are staying, take a look at the weather and come up with the perfect setting.

Itinerary
While we assume that you know the basics, we will still review them and make sure that we are all doing the same thing and talking the same language.

Once we have all of those skills squared away we will get into the climbing, starting off at an easy level and then slowly upping the level, pushing you some as you develop new skills.

Instructors
Our guides are American Mountain Guides Association trained so you can expect the highest level of climbing and safety knowledge combined with solid instructional skills and professionalism.

Equipment Required
Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing for warm or cold, wet or dry weather, a sack lunch, sunscreen, sun hat, 2 quarts water, snacks, camera and film, and a daypack to carry it all.

We highly recommend that you spend at least one night at moderate altitude (higher than 8,000') just prior to the trip. Spending a night in Mammoth would do the trick. Please refer to our Planning for Success info sheet for more info.
