Todd Calfee is the archetype of the Sierra wanderer following in the footsteps of John Muir, Norman Clyde and other unabashed Sierra Nevada enthusiasts.
Todd started hiking in the western Sierra Nevada as a child with family hiking trips into Sequoia National Park.
Since then his ideal vacation is to pack up and spend the entire summer in the Sierra.
Todd is an expert at living very little and has spent up to 40 days at a time in the backcountry.
All of this time has given him an unrivaled knowledge of the mountains and peaks of the Sierra and there are few parts that Todd has not visited.
As well he has a wide range of knowledge of the natural history, human history, flora and fauna and is able to expand your appreciation of the backcountry with this wealth of experience.
When not hiking Todd works winter teaching crosscountry skiing for Tamarack Ski Area in Mammoth and is Level II Cross Country Certified.
Favorite Guided Trip. The Sierra High Hike because it avoid the trailed areas and travels cross country. |
